The RIA Network Group was founded in 2008. The group is dedicated to locating, analyzing and working with providers of investment related solutions and services such as; direct investments, asset management, pension risk transfer, investment technology and administration.
At The RIA Network, through the sharing of ideas and insights among hundreds of asset owners, consultants, analysts, advisors, and CIOs, we act as a resource to find exceptional investment ideas prior to nationwide recognition, capacity constraints, or other factors that may lead to diminished performance, higher fees, or lack of access.
Using our knowledge of the changing investment landscape and our vast network of industry contacts, we are able to identify emerging trends and investor demands. Once we understand these trends and demands we mine the network in an effort to find firms that can provide solutions. Once located, we often refer a potential solution provider to a small group of our key contacts to quickly gather in-depth knowledge on the firm's experience, culture, services, source of capital, distribution footprint and pricing model.
Jim has been operating at the intersection of asset owners and investments for over 20 years. In addition to roles at Fortis Investors, The Hartford, and F2, he was a founder and concept engineer for his own firms, HRC Partners, Liberty Street Advisors and MMB Securities (now HRC Portfolio Solutions). Jim was instrumental in developing these companies into sizable mutual fund and cap intro firms. Since 1993 he has been able to connect billions of dollars in investment capital to various investment solution providers. He has held executive leadership roles in distribution, product, manager research, portfolio management, trading, investment advisory, client service, operations and financial reporting. He has been a consultant and advisor to asset managers (quant, fundamental, alternative), private equity firms, broker dealers, family offices, ETF providers, mutual fund companies, pension consultants and asset owners.
Dan Lachcik is a member of The RIA network and has spent the past 15 years working with investment managers, research authors and financial advisors. Most recently Dan completed an assignment to assist a privately owned small and micro-cap manager with their key account function and mutual fund distribution. Previously Dan spent 10 years as a managing director of sales for HRC Portfolio Solutions where he was instrumental in building and managing a team of internal/external wholesalers. Focusing on developing and managing nationwide relationships in the wire-house/RIA distribution channels, he sourced over $2.5 billion for a wide array of asset managers. Prior to HRC, Dan was the Vice President of PCS Securities, a provider of independent research. Dan created a network of over 1000 buy-side firms to understand their investment philosophy and provide catered research solutions. It is this unique capital markets, research and distribution background that make Dan a valuable asset for The RIA Network.
Louis E. Bachetti is a member of the network and brings over 25 years of experience working with large insurance companies, asset managers, plan administrators, TPAs and pension advisors. Lou maintains an extensive network in the BD/DC pension market and regularly advises firms in the areas of distribution, marketing and product development. He is an angel investor in multiple financial tech start-ups and has held senior executive leadership roles with some of the country's largest financial services firms. Lou served as SVP, Head of Investment Sales and Distribution for Transamerica and as an EVP, Head of Institutional Distribution for ING Wealth Management’s Retirement Businesses. His experience and extensive database of senior level contacts brings a unique perspective to our network.
